26th August: International Dog Day

International Dog Day on August 26th encourages dog ownership of all breeds. While seeking a new companion, be sure to consider the mutts, mixes, purebreds, and everything in between.

Accept the possibility for all dogs, whether mixed or purebred, to live a happy, safe, and abuse-free existence. They all provide us with company. Furthermore, they keep us safe and assist those in need. Dogs have fun. They, too, play numerous functions in our lives! They keep us physically and mentally well.

No one can win hearts like man’s best friend and in honour of this bond between man and canine, Dog Day is celebrated.

Take time to appreciate the love and value that dogs bring to our daily lives, and to do your bit for homeless and abused dogs the world over. From keeping us safe working for the emergency services to supporting people who are blind, deaf or disabled, dogs do a lot for us humans, and this is an opportunity to give something back.
