Across Borders, Through Frames: Our Journey at Annecy & MIFA 2025

This June, Prayan Animation Studio had the privilege of attending one of the most exciting events in the animation world: the Annecy International Animation Festival and the MIFA industry market – two of the biggest gatherings in the animation industry!

What we experienced was far beyond an event; it was a convergence of talent, vision, and culture from every corner of the globe.

A Meeting Point of Minds and Mediums

Walking into Annecy, it quickly became clear that animation isn’t just an industry; it’s a vibrant, evolving language. We met passionate creators from Japan to Brazil, visionary producers from Europe to Africa, and storytellers whose narratives spanned folklore, science, and future tech.

The conversations were as diverse as the people. Some spoke of preserving tradition through animation; others pushed the boundaries of technology and style. But the one thing that united everyone was a deep love for the art – and a belief in its power to connect people.

Pitches, Partnerships & Possibilities

At MIFA, we participated in pitching sessions and numerous B2B meetings. These weren’t just formal interactions—they were creative sparks. Prayan Animation Studio had the opportunity to showcase its work to studios, producers, and publishers, and the feedback was both encouraging and insightful.

Several of these meetings have opened doors to exciting new collaborations, including:

❖ Educational animation projects with European companies

❖ Children’s IP development with creators looking for 2D production support

❖ Explainer videos for global NGOs and startups

The discussions are still early, but the interest and warmth we received reinforced something we’ve always believed: quality storytelling has no boundaries.

More Than Business: An Exchange of Art & Soul

Annecy is not just about screenings and sales. It’s about soaking in inspiration. From open-air screenings by the lake to immersive animation showcases, we found ourselves constantly learning—about trends, techniques, and perspectives.

One of the most beautiful  things about the festival? Seeing how art and culture came alive together. The storytelling styles, color palettes, and even the music used reflected where people came from and what they stood for. It reminded us that every frame carries a piece of someone’s world.

Looking Ahead with Fresh Energy

Returning home, we’re not just bringing back business cards—we’re carrying ideas, friendships, and renewed energy. We’re more excited than ever to keep telling meaningful stories and collaborating across continents.
