Superman (2025) Review – A Triumphant Return for the Man of Steel
As a lifelong Superman fan, I went into Superman (2025) with huge expectations and a lot of excitement. I’m happy to say James Gunn’s take on the Man of Steel not only met those expectations—it went above and beyond.
This movie gives you everything you’d want from a Superman story: it’s hopeful, inspiring, emotional, and looks fantastic. David Corenswet does a great job as Clark Kent. He brings just the right mix of kindness and strength, reminding me of Christopher Reeve, but also making the role his own. Whether he’s being the shy reporter or the confident hero, Corenswet makes Superman feel both classic and new.
James Gunn clearly understands what makes Superman special. This isn’t a dark or brooding version—it’s a Superman who cares, who believes in people, and who always tries to do the right thing. The film balances Clark’s double life, his relationship with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan is sharp and witty), and his tense rivalry with Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult is truly chilling).
What really impressed me was how the movie builds out the DC world. Characters like Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and Mister Terrific are fun to watch and add to the story, but Superman always stays at the center. The action scenes, especially when Superman flies, are breathtaking. The cinematography made me feel the wonder I felt as a kid.
The movie’s emotional side is just as strong. This Superman doesn’t just save people—he gives them hope. He’s strong but also vulnerable, and the film shows that being Superman is about inspiring others, not just being powerful. By the end, I was honestly moved—not because of anything sad, but because it felt so right.
Superman (2025) isn’t just a great Superman movie—it’s a fresh start for the character. It reminded me why Superman is still important today. James Gunn has made a film that truly honors the hero, and I left the theater feeling proud, hopeful, and ready to watch it again.
